What is the best beach on the gulf coast?

What is the best beach on the gulf coast? I'm looking for the least crowded, most beautiful beach for a relaxing vacation for a family with small chidren (digging in the sand still entertains them for hours, so we don't require a multitude of entertainment options.) Thanks!

We spend 3 weeks each summer at a beach house on Fort Morgan penisula in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Our favorite place!! Lots of uncrowded beaches but only 15 minutes from Gulf Shores if you want to eat out and play around!
